1. How much area you're covering
Pavers are priced by the square foot, so size matters most. A front walkway is a small job; a full driveway plus a lanai patio is a much bigger one. That's why we always measure in person instead of guessing from a photo.
2. What the pavers are for
Driveways need thicker pavers. We use 60 mm pavers for driveways, made to hold cars and golf carts. Patios and walkways that only see foot traffic can often use thinner 30 mm pavers.
3. The pattern you choose
A simple running bond needs fewer cuts. A herringbone laid at 45 degrees needs more cutting at the edges, which takes more time. Both look great; it's a style choice with a small effect on labor.
4. Edges, curves and pool coping
Curved borders, steps and pool decks take more detail work. Around a pool, the edge pieces (coping) are measured separately, and we always measure those ourselves.
5. What's already there
Every site is different. When Marco visits, he looks at what's there now and what needs to happen before the new pavers go in, so it's included in your estimate up front.
6. Sealing
With MOM, sealing is included in your paver price. We come back to seal once the pavers have settled. Read when to seal new pavers to see why we wait.
Why MOM can offer better prices: we buy direct from the manufacturer, and we pass that on to homeowners in The Villages and Middleton.
